The fields consists of rice, milo, corn and lightly plowed flats all depending on the farmer’s crop rotation on each property. We also have places with lots of the ducks favorite natural foods consisting of wigeon grass or smart weed. Ducks typically taken on the Texas prairies consist of Pintail, Wigeon, Teal (blue and green wing), Gadwall, Shoveler and the occasional goose. Though last year amazingly there were over 18 different types of ducks taken (all on club land) by our seasonal lease members!
So when you find yourself looking for a seasonal duck lease in Texas - look no further - we have it! By joining our waterfowl club as a seasonal member, you can choose to duck hunt in Chesterville, Lissie, or Eagle Lake, Texas on one day; then you might choose a different duck hunting blind in Markham, El Campo, Bonus, East Banard, or one of our other properties the next day. It s all up to you! Here at Riceland Waterfowl Club we have many duck hunting blinds and flooded fields, which allows you to move around as the waterfowl move, according to the hunting pressure. We along with our club members scout fields constantly, keeping a watchful eye on the ducks and geese and where they're feeding at. We then advise our seasonal lease members when they ask us where the best duck hunting blinds are for the given day. The areas the waterfowl are using today may change, due to adverse weather conditions. All this informs our seasonal lease members on where to shoot ducks on the day they want to go duck hunting. It also helps as a club member to be on our members only Facebook page, where members talk about what has been going on and their success stories.
